Definition of Placement

The Miller-Motte Chattanooga campus also uses the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) placement rate methodology. The THEC placement rate definition is:

“Placement rate” means the number who obtain employment in a related field as a percentage of the number placeable, that is, Placement Rate = Number Placed/Number Placeable × 100.

Number Placeable is the Number of Completions minus the number of completers not placed due to special circumstances (if applicable), plus the number of withdrawals that placed (if applicable).
